About
Who I am
I grew up around the U.S. Foreign Service, which meant moving a fair amount and paying attention to governments earlier than most people do. That’s probably why the two things I’ve kept coming back to; how governments behave and how markets price things, never felt like separate interests.
I studied finance and economics at Nebraska and spent three summers working at U.S. embassies: human resources in Bogotá, then twice in Berlin, in the Economic Section and in Financial Management. Berlin’s economic posting was the one that stuck. Each morning we decided which of the previous day’s stories, whether a data print, an industry report, or a minister’s remarks was worth Washington’s attention, then said it in four sentences. I liked the judgment involved more than I expected to.
The other half arrived in a fixed income class. I found debt more satisfying to analyze than equity. Equity asks what a business might be worth; credit asks whether you’ll be repaid, and what that risk should cost today. I like that the question scales from a single private borrower, to a company choosing when to come to market, to a government whose borrowing cost is a running verdict on its economy. That whole range is where I’m pointed, from private credit and DCM through to macro and FICC research.
I’m looking for an analyst role in those markets from July 2027, in the US, UK, or Europe — I hold US and EU citizenship, so I can work in the States and across the EU without sponsorship.
Outside of work
I love to go to new coffee shops, specifically trying new specialty coffee shops wherever I’m at. Here in Dublin my favorite coffee shop is INTIKA CoffeeHouse . In Lincoln, Bloom Coffee is the best, while in Frankfurt Hoppenworth & Ploch Café , and in Berlin Bonanza Coffee has the cake!
I do other things too, don’t worry!
